Bayview Terrace is a considered residential project located within one of Clayfield’s most established and character-defined streets.
The design responds to both context and streetscape, carefully balancing contemporary living requirements with the expectations of a traditional residential setting. The existing condition is refined and extended to improve functionality and spatial flow, while maintaining a strong connection to the architectural language of the surrounding area.
A key focus of the project is the reorganisation of internal planning. Living spaces are opened and connected to outdoor areas, allowing natural light and ventilation to shape the experience of the home while preserving a sense of privacy from neighbouring properties.
The architectural approach is defined by restraint. Additions are resolved to sit comfortably within the existing form, ensuring the home retains its scale and presence within the street. The transition between old and new is managed through proportion, alignment, and a consistent material language.
Materiality and detailing are handled with care, reinforcing cohesion across the project. Traditional elements are retained and refined where appropriate, while new insertions are expressed with clarity, allowing the home to evolve without compromising its identity.
